my favorite alcoholic beverages
~a special tribute~

Category I: Beer
although i wasn't always a fan of beer, after drinking many bottles and cans of various brands, i have learned to acquire the taste and now i enjoy drinking beer, especially in social settings.

1. Heineken

originally a beer company from amsterdam, they have acquired german brewing technologies to make one of the world's greatest beer that's available commercially

2. Yebisu

a subsidiary of sapporo beer, yebisu is considered "higher-end" japanese beer. i used to hate most of the beers out there, but for some reason, i still enjoyed drinking this beer. it tends to be a little sweet rather than bitter. a great beer for those of you that want to drink beer, but don't like it too bitter.

3. Tiger

A Singaporean beer produced by Asia Pacific Breweries, Tiger beer was something that I decided to try when I was grocery shopping one day at 99 Ranch. The name sounds cool, and my curiosity resulted in me buying a 6 bottle pack to try it out. And yes, it's a great beer and it doesn't get all bitter on ya either. Highly recommended for the more adventurous beer taster.

4. Asahi

Why, of course, Asahi! The great Japanese beer that has acquired world-renowned brand recognition. The first time I tried Asahi was when I was 16 in Tokyo at this izakaya (japanese-style) restaurant. Yes, I know I was technically considered underage but those japanese people sell beer in vending machines too. it's not like those machines can check your ID. anyways, Asahi is a great beer to drink.. It's probably the most easily accessible Japanese beer to get in the states, alongside with Sapporo and Kirin. So next time you're out eating sushi or yakitori, ask your server for some Asahi super dry!

5. Samuel Adams

First brewed in 1984 in Boston, it has a malty flavor, slightly sweet, with a little bit of that spicy taste. It closely resembles an ale, but smooth like your typical lager beer. I noticed that Samuel Adams is much darker in tone, meaning that the malt has been more darkly roasted giving it a rich taste. This is a great beer to have while at a pub or bar.

well, that's it for the beer category.. next update will feature liquor!
stay tuned..
